Happy 20th Birthday to Francesca - Today, March 13th!
Although Cliff secretly hoped his business trip would coincide with Francesca's MTC departure date, he ended up in Milan a full week before her arrival. He couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop by and check out her new stomping ground!
Although Cliff secretly hoped his business trip would coincide with Francesca's MTC departure date, he ended up in Milan a full week before her arrival. He couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop by and check out her new stomping ground!
This is the Milan, Italy mission office. Across the street is the mission home. They've never had so many sisters arrive at one time. Francesca and ten other sisters arrive next week (March 20th)! They are renting a little bus to pick them all up and will put them up in a hotel for their first night. I think Cliff forgot to ask about the elders. We're kind of "sister missionary side tracked"!
This photo was taken today (Tues, March 12th): Cliff in the mission office with President Wolfgramm. Francesca's photo is already on the board behind them! Currently they have about 140 in their mission; 24 are sisters. In the next 2 months, that number will go to 64 sisters - which means all of these new sister missionaries will be training within the first 2 transfers! Right now they are having a surge of sisters; in the summer they'll have a surge of elders. By the end of the year, they expect to have over 260 missionaries in the Milan mission.
The first night they will have a little training at the church, then dinner :) and
Gelato! YUM!
The new missionaries will see a few historic sites in Milano before transferring to their new areas on Thursday by bus or train.
